Thomas
When I was just five years old I had an encounter with Jesus. I started walking with the Lord and at the age of twelve I knew the call upon me to be a full time missionary. Therefore I grew with the passion to reach the unreached with the love of Christ. Even today I have only one thing in my heart which I earnestly wanted to impart in to my children and to the body of Christ and that is to preach and practice the love of Christ. I became a missionary to North India at the age of 19 and had the privilege to preach the gospel for the last 23 years.
My wife Elsie too was saved at the age of 8. Her strongest ambition was to become a nurse and her dreams came true. As she wished to work in the Middle East God granted her an opportunity to work in Qatar for five years. One day she heard the voice of God asking her to resign her job and to be a missionary in North India. In spite of all the discouraging words from her parents, friends and even from her authorities, she stood firm in her decision and came to North India quitting her job.
We are very excited about the mission of Indian Evangelical Team to reach the unreached at any cost. IET is heading towards the fulfillment of its God given target of 7777 churches in South Asia by 2010. So far IET has planted more than 5000 churches in the unreached villages of South Asia. Whenever we travel to the villages we are reminded of the words of Jesus Christ "that the harvest is plenty but the laborers are few.
The answer is very simple, 'the lack of prayer'. More prayer warriors are to be raised who can understand the heart beat of our master and pour out their life in prayer to raise up more gospel workers. In the 23 years of my ministry life I have learnt one thing that the new converts are always ready to respond to the great commission and their enthusiasm is very strong. We can train them and send to the unreached village if God's people are behind supporting them as senders. Paul reminds us,' how can the message be proclaimed if the messengers are not sent out? I believe that God is in search of two kinds of laborers for the harvest, first the goers who will take the gospel to the unreached and the senders who will support those who are going with their prayers and finances.
Let us pray to the master of the harvest to raise more laborers according to his heart's desire.
